Exercise #8 Research project - Volunteers in Education
Have a look at this page on the internet:http://www.worldvolunteerweb.org/browse/sectors/education.html
This page has some ideas about how people can volunteer through education projects.
Once you have read through the pages, you need to work in volunteer project groups.
In your groups, come up with or choose a project which you think can be advanced through an educational setting. There are no restrictions, but your idea should be innovative and should aim at adding real value to the people you are trying to help.
As you are working through your project, one of you should be putting together a short presentation (Powerpoint, etc) to explain to the rest of the group what you are trying to achieve; 3-5 minutes.
You should aim to cover the following points, at least:
1. What are the aims of the project ?
1, eradicate extreme poverty and hunger.
2, achieve universal primary education.
3, puts a woman and a man on the same level.
4, reduce child mortality.
5, is a poignant reminder that every minute a woman dies due to complications of pregnancy or childbirth.
6, combat HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases.
7, is a call to action to ensure environmental sustainability.
8, of global partnerships for development is signified by distant balloons. IN Kosovo
2. Who are the target audience, and why?
All ages are involved in this project program but they focus on the children's.
3. What activities would your project involve?
Provide jobs to people in kosovo and shelter ,and build schools and provide free food for the kosovian people.
4. Who would be volunteering? Why?
The expert people for example teachers ,engineers and volunteers..etc all this expert peopl have already skills to serve the kosovian unlike the people don't have.
5. What are the benefits your project could bring to the target audience?
Actually the benefit will be for most of people because they will be satisfied about the additional help for them also for their children, which will achieve a great and balanced future for them.
6. How would you look into launching your project with reference to the relevant authorities in the UAE and in the country you have targeted?
That can be achieved in Schools, Sport clubs, , and other authorities in our country which can spend effort for helping people; or in any other county like in the case that we have which is about Kosovo.
7. What problems do you think you might come across and how would you try to get around them?
We may have problems with the money to buy the equipment for sick people and some stuff for the children and also maybe we have a problem with place for the volunteers and we can solve that if some important people helped us.

interest in some of this places.
Human Rights Activity # 3:
Working in pairs, discuss and write how these
rights relate to the different levels of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs?
Its related because its basic things that the human need in his
life and some of them are just repeated but in deferent way so, here in human
rights is in detail but in Maslow’s are not.
1. working in pairs, go to Google Maps (or a similar site) and
download an image of the map of the city of Abu Dhabi, where you live.
2. Analyze your map from a human rights perspective. What human
rights do they associate with different places on their maps? For
example, a mosque with freedom of thought and religion; the school with the
right to education; the post office with the right to information, to privacy,
and to self-expression. As they identify these rights, they should look up
the relevant article(s) in the UDHR and write the article number(s) next to
that place on the map.
3. Present the map to the whole class OR dicuss
what rights are in your neighborhood.
Did any parts of your map have a high concentration of rights?
How do you explain this?
yes, schools and we have the basic things that we need like
supermarkets, but we still need other things, also we live in new area so its
need some time to get ready.
